It is a medium. And like every medium before it, AI is already redefining us, even as we scramble to use it. To see clearly, I borrow from Marshall McLuhan — a seer of technological effects, who mapped out how new media alter societies not by content, but by consequence. His “tetrad” model allows us to glimpse a new medium’s true nature. So, let us apply this lens to AI — the strange mirror now watching us. ...
